The S&P's 5 out of 500 - Feb. 10-14, 2025

I hope everyone's Valentine's Day was good!

Here are the top five leading stocks for this week.

The reason this is important is because this blog focuses on momentum trading. Momentum trading believes that stocks that lead tend to keep leading and stocks that lag tend to keep lagging. There will be some exceptions, but this rule tends to stay true. In the case that it doesn't, exit out. Regardless of whether you momentum trade, this information is still valuable. At the very least, you'll have some stocks to consider.

** These charts posted here are six-month charts

Our Blog Portfolio

This is where our portfolio was last post.

This is how it looks now. It grew hugely, and I think the huge boost can be attributed to earnings coming out for most countries.

Portfolio Upkeep

We're removing TSLA (12/8/24), BEN, and NCLH.

Some of these stocks are in the deficit range where I usually cut them off, but their earnings haven't been posted yet, so I'm letting them hand around for a little while more. Additionally, I'm going to start being more picky with which stocks in the top 5 that I'll be adding into the portfolio based off their earnings and sales growth, as well as their 6-month progression.

With this in mind, I will not be adding anything to the portfolio this week. SMCI was the only one that grew in earnings and sales, but SMCI has been reported to have some accounting issues. I don't think it's a good stock to invest in.

Xoxo!

Have a great (belated) Valentine's Day.
